In today's difficult economy, it is especially hard for most people, especially working moms, and care givers like myself to make ends meet. It was God's grace and His mercy(and a lot of research and study) that allowed me to discover how to supplement my income online. And since I started with virtually no operating budget, free and inexpensive ways to run my businesses have been invaluable to me.

Most anyone can make a quality income from home, or with their laptop, from anywhere.

Get at least one affiliate business. Get 5 or 6, as many internet marketers will confess that they make about $500 or $600 per month per business.

A person, organization, or establishment associated with another as a subordinate, subsidiary, or member:" (Yahoo Dictionary). To become an affiliate, you do not have to build a website, or buy billboards or TV time to advertise, or have hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest. Many established internet businesses offer prebuilt sites with attractive pay plans to their affiliates. Among the most popular affiliate businesses are Clickbank, Success University, and Traffic Swarm. A site called IM Reportcard lets internet affiliates rate their business on an A-F scale and leave helpful comments about their experiences with them. Signing up to research listed businesses is free.

Simply research and choose businesses that fit your interests and budget. Many of them are free or free to try on a trial basis. Once you settle on a few that suit your needs, sign up, follow the instructions carefully to get your sites setup. Now every time someone purchases anything from one of your affiliate sites, you get paid according to the agreements that you have with your vendors. Your job is to drive traffic to your sites.

Drive quality targeted traffic to your affiliate sites using articles, blogs, social networking, free classifieds, traffic exchanges and SEO optimization.

Traffic on the internet is visitors to your websites. The more visitors you generate, the more sales you should make. But that is not exactly how it works. A lot of people are just surfing, not shopping. What you want is targeted traffic, that is people who are shopping for what you're selling. The best way to get free, quality, targeted traffic is to write content rich articles with your links in the resource box and submit them to article directories.

Another good way is to write a blog, perhaps about your experience with your businesses, and promote that using Pingomatic.com and Pingoat.com. Join Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and other social networks and invite your friends to follow you on a fan page or event. You can even make a short video about how to make money as an affiliate marketer, and put in on YouTube. Just don't spam anyone. Spam is unsolicited advertising. It'll get you banned from most social networks.

You can also place free classified ads in online publications like Craigslist.com, Backpage.com, Livedeal.com, and Kijiji.com to name a few. Again, be careful to read the rules about including your links in the ads, because misuse of the free classified will get your ads pulled.

Traffic exchanges are what the name suggests. If you visit other peoples site for 30 seconds or so, the exchange will show your links to the agreed upon # of Visitors. For free, you usually have to look at two sites to get your site looked at once. This can be a colossal time waster. Many of these sites will sell you traffic, but with no gaurantee of buyers. This can very quickly turn into a colossal waste of money. Don't do it unless you have set aside a predetermined advertising budget, for maybe three months while you get established.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. If you employ two or more of the above methods well, the search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) will find you and give you highly coveted first page natural rankings according to your key words. Then people searching for your products through the search engines will find your sites. Search Engine traffic is always high quality traffic, because these people are shoppers looking for your products, and your affiliate sites are the solutions they seek. When they buy, you get paid. That's how you make money.

Track your ads and methods to see what works best and repeat it.

You can make money online without spending a lot of money. It will take a couple of hours a day, diligence, and know how. It is being done daily by people just like you, who yearn for something better. People Who eventually can quit their day jobs and work exclusively from their computer. Trust and honor God in all your business dealings. Deuteronomy 8:18 says... "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth...". Be Honest. Be blessed.
